Dear Ron and Crew,
Since I “discovered” The American Entrepreneur on iTunes, about a year ago, I feel like I died and went to “entrepreneur heaven”!
I often hear many people who are at a “career crossroads” opt for the “I am going back to school to get my MBA” path. My advice “forget hanging out with the officers in the rear, head to the front and seek the advice, knowledge and experience from those on the front lines!”
TAE is the front line - everyday. Your real world experience, guidance, incredible guests and daily “rants” have helped take my business to the next level.
For those looking to start a business, listen to TAE for one full year before you start your business or invest one dollar into your new enterprise - trust me, you will be two years ahead…!
Ron, let me know where to send the check.
Continued Success,
Paul Crawley

“I want to thank you for your show. Thanks for opening us up to a world of entrepreneurship that otherwise, we may not have access to in our day-to-day lives…”

“I think your show is fantastic. I would love to be doing what you do one of these days. I think it is fantastic to be able to give back because a lot of these entrepreneurs don’t have someone they can listen to. We have a local group here called Tampa Wave, which is a bunch of entrepreneurs that get together every week and I am going to have to tell them about your show.”

Founding CEO of VWorker.com (aka. Rent a Coder)
“I congratulate you. In your life, you have been an extraordinary entrepreneur. Your whole life would be very motivational, and just like with my career, you know that it has never been easy for us.”

“Money Talk 1360 WMNY. It’s the place to listen if you want to find out about business and important things that are going on…I thought for a long time that you were crazy. I thought that the station, it was a nice idea, you had some good guests, you talked about some good things, but it’s a small station, it’s really not gonna make a difference. You’ve made a difference. I was wrong. A lot of people talk about this station, a lot of people listen. You have probably the best audience for business radio of anything in this region, probably one of the best in the state. You’re making end-roads.You’ve got followers on Talkshoe and on your online program, they watch all over the country. The guests you’ve had on are just spectacular. You have guests that normally you would expect to hear coming out of a radio station in Chicago or New York or L.A. So you’ve done a great job, and you managed to keep the local issues alive and well and talk about those.”

Former Allegheny Chief Executive
“Couple of weeks ago I answered a winning question from Ron’s show . For that I received a wonderful, very attractive baseball cap. I have been wearing it with pride and a feel of entrepreneurship in me! This past weekend, I spent quality time with my kids at Trax Farm. Watching men & women walk past with their Steelers, Penguins & Pirates ball caps, and knowing these teams do not allow your brain to grow like the TAE team! Thank You again for the ball-cap. Wishing ya all great health and wealth in this remaining year!”
Sincerely,
Vitaly M
“Your third anniversary show was a great show. I listened to the podcast a number of times. I really want to know, when are you getting Harvey Lamm (Founder of Subaru of America) and Dick Heckmann back on? That was great!”

“I am really excited about…TAEradio.com. Anybody who would love to listen to a segment over again, go the website. Not only can you listen to the whole show, you can listen to the segments, pause them, and go back and forth. Yesterday’s show, with Mike Kauffelt, was so interesting that I had to go back and forth a couple times. It was just fascinating, the information. It is so interesting to understand what he was talking about, but quite frankly, I don’t have the wherewithal to take it all in, in the first try. I actually had to listen two or three times and then I said, “Aha, now I understand.” The website is fantastic for doing that. I wish when I went to school that they would have videotaped or sound recorded the classes. I would have learned so much more if I could have gone back and forth and listened to them…Also, you ask those tough questions, even of a friend, that I almost would have been embarrassed to ask as a caller…What I do when I get ready in the morning is I actually bring my laptop into the bathroom and play your podcasts over and over again, and I learn. I think today, if you don’t learn, you’re going to be left with everyone else who haven’t attempted to learn and you’re going to get hurt in the market. So, I wanted to tell your audience to take you up on some of these resources you are offering. They’re not just one-time listens. Listen to them over and over again. Get it, and protect yourself. I’m excited because you’re not getting in on the main stream media.”

Hello Ron,
I had the good fortune of stumbling upon The American Entrepreneur (via podcast) about a month or so ago, and I feel compelled to give you a holler and tell you how much I enjoy your show and how much you’ve already helped me to further stoke my thinking and actions around “advancing the ball” with my own business. I run a membership-based website which is essentially the online version of my in-person stretching and yoga programs (I’m still doing those too), and I love it and it’s exciting but it’s also scary territory for me! Your show has quickly become my daily shot in the arm, usually either when I’m out for a run or preparing dinner. You offer such a helpful mix of practical, “from the trenches” advice and interesting interviews, and you have such a natural, comfortable, conversational style that I really appreciate. I feel like I’m constantly extracting good stuff that I can turn around and immediately apply to my work.
In short, THANK YOU! You can bet I will continue to listen voraciously and look forward to doing so.
All the best,

You can tell I don’t always listen to the show in chronological order, as only yesterday did I get the chance to listen to Tuesday’s show while out for a run. When Ron read my testimonial on the air (see above), I nearly fell over! Please pass along my sincere appreciation to him for doing so. Yesterday especially I needed it, as the day was quite the chaotic one!
Later in the show, Ron was wondering aloud about how I (as an example of someone outside of Pittsburgh) had found the show. He guessed correctly: I’m constantly scouring iTunes for interesting podcasts, and in fact had already searched ad nauseum with the term “entrepreneur” on many previous occasions, typically finding disappointing results such as some obscure podcast with 6 episodes from 2007. I’m not sure what prompted me to give it another go, maybe hope that somehow the directory had been updated, but I did recently, and lo and behold, The American Entrepreneur came up. I think I heard all of 3 seconds and I immediately subscribed! I believe the first show I listened to (out of order, obviously) was his interview with Tommy James.
Anyway, that’s how I found it. I searched iTunes again yesterday with the term “entrepreneur” again, and happily the show comes up immediately, high in the rankings, so I imagine there will be many people like myself making this “Eureka!” discovery!
I have a draft of my blog entry, by the way; I’ll send it to you once I’ve published it (see below).
Thanks again!

Fellow runners who are also fellow entrepreneurs: A podcast worth running to
It’s funny to reflect on how my iPod listening habits have changed. Until about a year and a half ago, I couldn’t conceive of listening to anything other than music (or nothing at all) while out for a run. What else is there? Then I became a podcast junkie, and suddenly it’s the exceptional day in which I say, “I need a brain breather. So today I’ll listen to music instead.”
What I like about podcasts, aside from the opportunity to be informed, or have my thinking provoked by a lively discussion, or enjoy being able to passively listen while someone else does the talking for a change (I don’t think my husband thought the latter is possible), is the fact that they put me in a very mellow running rhythm. When I’m listening to music, inevitably I find my pacing, even my overall countenance, is bolder, more aggressive; yet when I’m listening to a human voice speaking, I’m lulled into an auto-pilot running trance that seems to lighten my stride, and by extension, lighten my mood. It’s not to say that I don’t find a “music run” relaxing as well, but it’s still a different kind of run. And being one whose body is more built for contortion, less built for running, that downshifted running mode suits my physiology just fine.
In any event, my purpose for writing this post is to actually pass along a specific podcast I’d discovered recently, because it immediately grabbed my attention and I’ve quickly become addicted! It’s The American Entrepreneur, and it’s actually a radio show based in Pittsburgh. Ron Morris is the host, and he has a very easygoing, natural conversational style, and covers a dizzying variety of topics and interviews and musings that makes my run fly by and — bonus! — manages to leave me better equipped to run my own business, The Flexibility Coach. Which is definitely a good thing, since I am still a far better stretching and yoga instructor than savvy business maven!

“While business experience may be a qualifier to running a business, character and personality are qualifiers to hosting a talk show no matter what the subject. It is rare to find a station with a host and so many guests that actually have ALL of these attributes.”

“I am a long time listener of TAE and have found this program to be informative and entertaining. The guests and their advice/stories are very helpful to the small business community. ... Ron is a fighter, having defeated cancer, and an inspiration to us all.”

“I have long been a fan of Ron Morris, but like a fine wine, his show only gets better with age. Ron is a great interviewer and his personal asides about his life vision have the ability to really connect with listeners.”

“...you are igniting fires, planting seeds, and turning people on because you are grassroots man, you’re not willing just to go and brag about what you have done, but you tell the tale, you talk about the blood, sweat, tears, the agony of defeat, the phoenix rising from the flames. I think that you have a very powerful show. You know, a neuron in a brain is almost useless by itself but, when it is connected to other neurons, it does magic, and what you are doing is creating links among your listeners.”
