The American Entrepreneur is a brand that was launched in 1999 by Mr. Ron Morris.
Morris, at that time a fifteen-time entrepreneur, decided that he wanted to spend the last third of his life “giving back.” To this end, he started the Entrepreneurial Studies Program at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa, as well as The American Entrepreneur radio show. Today, TAE radio is a daily, three-hour call-in talk show that exists to help entrepreneurs and business people of all types conceptualize, build, grow, and exit their own start-up.
Some of the more recent guests on TAE radio include: Robert Kiyosaki, Malcolm Bricklin, Steve Wozniak, Regis McKenna, Jason Fried, Aaron Patzer, Steve Forbes, Tony Hsieh, Ray Lane, John Paul DeJoria, Wally Amos, Craig Newmark (Craigslist), Jeffrey Gitomer, and many more.
As of early summer, 2011, TAE radio stands alone as the most significant commercially-available medium for entrepreneurs. With more than 50 unique sponsors, TAE radio now produces 20.5 hours of programming each week, employing call-in, Internet-based, and interview-intensive methods to both teach and entertain entrepreneurs. Estimates of listenership to TAE are now pushing 100,000 all tolled with listeners from more than 120 different countries.
According to Morris, an individual who has taught entrepreneurism to more than 1,000 individuals over the years, “I can’t think of how many times I have wondered how I’ve possibly built companies without the type of assistance that TAE radio provides. Had I a resource like this when I was starting out in the early 20’s, I would no doubt have avoided millions and millions of dollars worth of mistakes.”
