How the Aviation Industry is Creating New Business Opportunities
In recent years, the aviation industry has been reeling, due to a combination of lingering terrorism fears, rising fuel costs, a struggling economy, and technological advancements that have compromised the need for business travel. But unlike the automobile industry, there is no federal bailout in sight, and the fact that the federal government has already discontinued federal space travel has sent a message to aviation industry officials and entrepreneurs regarding the role that air and space travel plays in the economic hierarchy. Rich Ryan, the CEO of Voyager Jet Center, joins The American Entrepreneur, Ron Morris, to discuss his observations on the issue, and what entrepreneural opportunities are arising in aviation related to the Marcellus Shale.

Using Pre-Owned Medical Supplies To Create a Niche: David McCormick
As a paramedic, David McCormick focused on putting his skills to use to take immediate care of the injured and sick in his domain. As he did this, David began to look beyond the immediate needs of his patients, and he noticed two things. First was the growing number of patients who lived without basic health insurance. Second, he noticed that, by and large, medical supplies given to patients after treatment, including crutches, wheelchairs, and walkers, were unused after the patient was healed. So David’s entrepreneurial mind went to work, and Recycled Mobility Products was born, collecting the gently used medical supplies, as well as financial contributions, from donors, and distributing them to low-income patients in need. David talks with The American Entrepreneur, Ron Morris, about his non-profit venture, his quest for seed capital for the enterprise, and what he has learned as he has started his business.
