Marcellus Shale:  What Will Happen to Our Farms and Our Roads?

Barry Scheetz, Elizabeth Maclin, Gary Swan, Mark Laskow, Tom Rehrig, Mark Taylor

While the Marcellus Shale development stands to be a boon to everyone from landowners to drillers, the activity of drilling into the Shale comes with it a critical question:  When all is said and done, what will happen to some of the critical aspects of our infrastructure?  Will our roads and bridges be able to withstand the loads of drilling machinery, as well as the trucks and rigs needed for the process?  Can our farms survive the horizontal drilling activity?  We’ll answer these questions and many more as part of the sixth installment of American Entrepreneur Radio’s twelve-part “Truth About Marcellus Shale”, devoted to the long-term impact of Marcellus Shale activity to our infrastructure.  Joining “The American Entrepreneur” Ron Morris for this discussion will be our panel of experts, including our go-to-guy when it comes to oil and gas, Mark Laskow of Greycourt, as well as Barry Scheetz, the Director of the Center of Dirt and Gravel Road Studies at Penn State University, as well as Gary Swan of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Elizabeth Maclin of Trout Unlimited.

Also on the Show:

Tom Rehrig & Mark Taylor (Utility Line Services):  What is the process behind the laying down of natural gas pipeline through the Marcellus Shale development?
