The American Entrepreneur

A Pair of “Kevin’s” Sound off on Pittsburgh’s Political and Business Scenes

Kevin Joyce, Kevin Acklin, Gerald Udell

“The American Entrepreneur” Ron Morris welcomes two of Pittsburgh’s most prominent business leaders, (and two of the most prominent “Kevin’s”) onto the program to discuss their take on what’s happening in Pittsburgh.  First, Kevin Acklin joins Ron to give his take on what’s happening with Pittsburgh’s political scene, how the City’s political leaders are serving its business community, and the impact that the pending change in Allegheny County leadership will have on the City of Pittsburgh. And one of the most prominent restaurateurs in the region, Kevin Joyce of the Carlton, talks with Ron about the restaurant business in the region, and what factors contribute to the success or failure of an establishment in Downtown Pittsburgh, including the success of its sports teams.  Plus, we explore the business of innovation, specifically, invention marketing, as Ron talks with Gerald Udell of the Innovation Institute, who discusses his elaborate criteria for judging the likely success or failure of a product concept.
